Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for the Natural Environment and Climate Improvement
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: Yes
To seek approval for the proposed set of criteria it is recommended are used to assess and prioritise future refurbishment works.
That the review process for existing play areas described within this report is noted.
That the assessment criteria and prioritisation score sheet are approved for use to generate a prioritised programme of play area refurbishments and approval is given to delegate authority to the Head of Environment and Community Services in consultation with the Cabinet Member for the Natural Environment and Climate Improvement to approve the programme.
The approval and adoption of the criteria and scoring methodology will enable prioritisation works to progress.
The option considered and rejected was not to approve and adopt the proposed assessment criteria for play areas. This was rejected as it would mean that the council would not be meeting its obligations and would ultimately fail to spend some of its capital budget.
